Recipe: When the Weather Outside is Frightful...

I feel like it's been ages since I last uploaded, but guys,

IT'S ALMOST CHRISTMAS! - it's Chistmas Eve, to be exact -

I have been singing Christmas songs non-stop for the last couple of days - read: weeks- and I probably won't stop until the 31st of January :)

Now what I like to do when it's nearly Christmas, is cuddle up on the couch with some hot chocolate and Christmas treats watching Christmas movies. So, to get me in the mood, I made these little pastries with almond and fig.

DIY: Housekeys

Hello!

Since I am the worst at remembering which one of my housekeys is for which door - they all look so much alike! - and my key covers always fall apart in no time, I couldn't help but give a little squeak when I recently saw an Instagram post from HEMA where they had covered their keys in, believe it or not, nail polish. I needed to try that out.

So, two days later, I was happy to throw all of the key covers, sticky from the duct tape, in the bin for good, and start over.

Turns out, it was not at all as simple as I thought it would be, but after a good hour messing around with nail polish and Scotch tape, I was finally done.

This is what you will need: paper, Scotch tape and as many colours of nail polish as you want to use

Things Are Changing...

Hi there!

As you may have noticed, I have been adding some bits and clips to this blog. The reason is that I am super duper new to this, and I don't really know what I want this blog to look like.

Some examples of things that I have been thinking of changing:

The background; I like this dotty one, nothing wrong with it, but I feel like it doesn't really go with the things that I write on here. I don't quite know where that feeling comes from, but I do know that it is not going away. 

The font; again, I like this one, but I don't know if it really is  what I had imagined for da blogg...

The language; don't panic, I'm not going to change the language completely, but I was thinking about maybe writing some posts in Dutch, just because I don't always feel like challenging my brain to write in English.

Lastly, the name!

I had a dream last night about a normal day at school, and suddenly some girl I didn't know asked me about my blog. Thing is, in this dream the girl mentioned my blog in the name Love, Rosaly... (imagine: loverosaly.blogspot.com) I woke up with the feeling that that might be either a very good or a very bad idea.

What do you think? Should I change the name? Any suggestions?

Just so you know, in the next couple of weeks, I'll be changing some things here and there, don't know exactly what, but yeah...

So I guess you'll just have to bare with me and we'll see where it goes.

Outfit: Primary Colours + much needed chai lattes

Hi everyone,

Sorry this post has come so late, I had actually planned it for Wednesday, but I have just been SO busy with school and I just didn't have the time.

It's already a week ago, and the weather has softened a bit, but on the last day of November, me and my friend Jieling had planned to go to the 17th century canals of Amsterdam to shoot some photos for this outfit post.

Bad idea.

It was freezing, and after ten minutes, our hands already were so cold that we were having trouble pressing the button on our cameras.

I unfortunately didn't include any gloves in my outfit, even though my mum insisted on it, silly me. So much regrets.

Half an hour later we concluded it wasn't going to get any better than that, so we hasted to a nearby Coffee Company and sat there for a good hour, chatting over our chai tea lattes.

We need to talk...

Hi everyone,

The title of this article might seem very dramatic to you - maybe it is, I don't know -, but I feel like I need to explain something to you, if not apologize.

The reason that many people start a blog, and also the reason I started blogging is that they love to write. It's as simple as that. But all over the web I see people who have amazing blogs and people who, like Laura, put a new blogpost online every other day, and then I start getting that feeling. 

That feeling that I'm not good enough.

That I SUCK at running this blog.

That I need to upload more often if I want to be taken seriously.

And maybe I do.

But there is something you have to know.

And that something is that I am really trying.

I am trying to upload as frequently as I can.

I am trying to do this - running this blog - as good as I can.

I'd prefer to spend my whole day writing and taking photos and creating new stuff, but I simply cannot do that. I've got tons and tons of homework to do - which is really stressing me out, because I have a big test this Thursday and I probably should start revising right now -, and as if that isn't a big enough stressfactor, also my private life isn't going as smooth as I would want it to.

So if you are expecting a new post from me every couple of days, I'm sorry to disappoint you. And if you expect me to always write happy articles with loads of small talk, I'm sorry, but life isn't always as pretty as it may seem on the Internet.

I'm sorry if I just really destroyed your mood, but I just felt the need to write this post.

Firstly, I'd like to take a moment to say thank you. Thank you to you, yes you, for reading this. You have no idea how much it means to me that people are actually interested in what I write.

Okay, that all said and done, now let's get going. Today I would like to show you an outfit I tend to wear a lot round this time of year. - I also have a second one, that should be up sometime next week - 

As you probably all know, it's fairly hard to make a photo of your outfit yourself, so I asked my friend Jieling (from the blog We'll Be Okay) to help me. So this morning I packed my clothes and then we set off to the park. It was my first time doing a photoshoot and I can say, I get pretty awkward when I'm in front of a lens - oops ö - But luckily all went well and this is the result:

This is me.

 As I am new to this, I thought I would firstly introduce myself.

My name is Rosaly, I am fourteen years old, and I have always wanted to write. If it was just a small story in my "Personal Story Book", or just complaining about my day in my diary - which often happened -, I have always had an obsession with writing.

Now I have grown slightly older and with the age comes also the interest in face and looks.

For me, this means that I have become interested in make-up and actual fashion. Some days I look back at old photos of me and think, how have I survived with this rubbish wardrobe? Yesterday was a day like that, and suddenly I had an idea. An idea of combining my two passions - if I may call them that - in one. What I mean to say is that my crazy mnd has found a crazy new project to keep itself busy. This idea led me here, to my new blog.

My idea for this blog is mainly to blog about beauty, fashion and lifestyle. Now I know, that there have been hundreds of girls before me, that there are hundreds of blogs about beauty, fashion and lifestyle, but I just want to know where I can take this. And of course, I'm only fourteen, and yes, I have just got into this, but personally, I don't think that's a problem. To me, this is the start of a new adventure in life, and life is all about exploring.

And isn't that just what I'm doing?
