MERRY CHRISTMAS! | BLOGMAS DAY 24

Hi there!

I'm uploading this at precisely midnight, which means it's Christmas Day! I know that by doing this I'm sort of bending the rules, but I really wanted to make this last post just for Christmas Day - hence why I've called this post blogmas day 24 instead of 23.

I wanted to wish you all a very merry Christmas, and I hope that you get to spend it with some of your favourite people, whether that is your mum, your sibling, your best friend or your partner.

I hope that you eat way too much food in the following days, so much, in fact, that you will want to sign up for the gym afterwards.

I hope that you have a Christmas on which you're having too much fun to take photo's.

I hope that you are kissed under the mistletoe - should you want to be kissed, of course.

I hope that you find happiness in the days that we tell the truth and think about others.

I hope that you find joy in giving your loved ones their presents and seeing their faces as they open it.

I hope that your abdomen will ache for days, from laughter.

I hope that your throat will be sore from singing Christmas carols and catching up with everyone.

I hope that family arguements will be put aside, even if just for the day.

I hope that you get to do the things you love, with the people you love.

And above all, I hope that, even if you don't get any of the things listed before, you will still feel the magic of Christmas, and recieve the hope for you and others to get through another year.

And maybe next year, you will have those things I hoped you would.

Merry Christmas.

Love,
Rosaly

THE INSTAGRAM TAG | BLOGMAS DAY 22

Hi there!

I know I said that I was going to upload 4 Christmas party outfits, but my friend who was going to help me take the photo's has issues at home and couldn't come, so I had to come up with something else.

Last year, Laura tagged everyone who felt the need to fill in this instagram tag, and as Instagram is one of my favourite social media platforms and I'm really looking forward to spending my entire afternoon looking back at old photos so... here we go!

What is your most recently posted photo on Instagram?

RECIPE: CHRISTMAS LUNCH | BLOGMAS DAY 21

Hi there!

I know I said this yesterday, but CHRISTMAS. It's literally almost here and I couldn't be more excited! I honestly want to ashshdfjdfl away in caps, but I won't, because that's a little bit inappropriate. Although. This is my own blog, after all.

AFHSJFHFHGVNISFH... - just kidding.

Moral of the story, I'm excited. For Christmas, should you be wondering.

A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS PART 4 | BLOGMAS DAY 20

Hi there!

Only four days left to Christmas and I can't contain my excitement any longer, like, I'm honestly about to explode...

As I really do want to round up A Merry Little Christmas for you, so... Here is the fourth and first to last part of A Merry Little Christmas. I'm sorry it's not too long, but I'm really really tired right now, and I want the last one to be a bit longer, so...

RECIPE: NIOMI'S NON ALCOHOLIC MULLED 'WINE' | BLOGMAS DAY 19

Hi there!

Today I wanted to really submerge us all in the Christmas spirit and give you this recipe for non alcoholic mulled 'wine'. If you haven't got any kids or pregnant women around and you don't have to drive home tonight, you can easily make this alcoholic by replacing the grape juice for red wine.

RECIPE: GRANDMA'S APPLE PIE | BLOGMAS DAY 18

Hi there!

Today I wanted to share with you a recipe that I 'learned' from my mum, who learned it from hers. It's a classic in our family, and it's probably one of the simplest and most basic pies you could think of. That doesn't mean it's not absolutely delicious. It's an option for every birthday and every party, because who doesn't like apple pie? If you don't like apple pie, no offense, but why not? It's so good!

WHY THERE WAS NO BLOGPOST YESTERDAY | BLOGMAS DAY 17

Hi there!

As you may - or may not - have noticed, I didn't upload a blogpost yesterday. Today's blogpost is kinda cheating because I'm going to explain why that was.

I was busy. So incredibly busy.

It's a shitty excuse, but unfortunately, it's true. Yesterday was our school's Christmas gala, and throughout the entire day - 6am to 7pm - I had exactly 4 hours to bake an apple pie, buy a mask - it was a masked gala, called 'Hidden Faces'; super fun, but a little less convenient in my planning - and get ready - aka curl my hair, which takes at least two hours, do my make up, and find some wearable tights.

RECIPE: CHRISTMAS BREAKFAST | BLOGMAS DAY 15

Hi there!

As I'm kind of a cooking fanat - you know all about it huh - I thought that I would start a sort of 'series' of three blogposts in which I give you my recipes for my version of classic Christmas day food! That means breakfast, lunch AND dinner! With today the first part, breakfast.

A CHRISTMAS MAKE UP LOOK | BLOGMAS DAY 14

Hi there!

Today's blogpost is going to be more photos than words, because I'm showing you my go-to Christmas make up look! I basically would choose this over any make up look for a Christmas party. Gold glitter eyeshadow is a Christmas classic and so is the red lip. I love it.

SOME THINGS I BOUGHT FOR WINTER - AND MY BLACK & WHITE WARDROBE PROBLEM | BLOGMAS DAY 11

Hi there!

Welcome back to blogmas! Today, I'm going to do something that I've been meaning to do for a little while now, and I might be a bit late, but it's a winter H&M haul!

A few weeks back, I popped into the H&M and came out with three stuffed plastic bags FULL of winter clothes. I spent over €100,- which was also a goal in my Day Zero Project, so I thought I would combine the two and show y'all what I bought.

Hi there!

Welcome to day 9 of blogmas! Today I have for you quite a simple blogpost, but for Christmas quite an essential one, because I'm going to tell you what my fifteen all time favourite Christmas songs are. Most of them are classics, but there's a few newer ones as well - might have included the Biebs #sorrynotsorry #itstoolatenowtosaysorry #worstjokeever -

CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE FOR HER | BLOGMAS DAY 7

Hi there!

Today I have for you: a Christmas gift guide. I always struggle finding the right Christmas presents for people and as I have come along a few things the past weeks that I myself would really like to get for Christmas, I thought I'd share those things with you and I hope that maybe you get some inspiration out of it. I've put the Amazon UK prices behind the titles, pretty much everything is under or around 10 pounds.

IT'S NOT WEAK TO SPEAK | MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK | BLOGMAS DAY 6

Hi there!

Welcome to blogmas day 6, but today I'm kinda going to be breaking up the Christmas trend and make room for something else. This week, is Mental Health Awareness Week, and as I myself suffer from a so called 'mental illness', and I know people who do, I wanted to say something about it.

I'm telling you now, this is going to be a pretty long post, but I would very much appreciate it if you'd read it, because this topic is so important to me.

HOLIDAY READS | BLOGMAS DAY 5

Hi there!

As I said in yesterday's post, I had a Holiday Reads finished and ready to go up, but my father didn't allow me to take a few photos in good lighting and instead took me to Waterstones where we got lost in tons and tons of books. But, today I managed to snap a few good ones of my ADORABLE Chrismassy flat lay, so here it is: my Holiday Reads.

A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS | PART 1 | BLOGMAS DAY 4

Hi there!

I am so incredibly sorry this post is uploaded so late at night. It's past midnight, which means it's officially already day 5 of blogmas, but since I stayed up until 1AM especially for you, I think we can ignore that fact for this one time.

Today I originally wanted to upload my Holiday Reads for you, but my dad decided to drag me out of the house and not let me go back until after sundown. So there I was, nearly crying my eyes out on the extremely grainy and unacceptable quality of my photos, when I thought of something.

A little while ago, I started writing a Christmas story. It is not near finished, and it's not going to be very long, but I think it'd be fun if I'd post it in three or four - or more - parts this blogmas. It's not like a masterpiece or anyting, it's quite cliché, but hey, it's Christmas. Yay or nay? Well, I guess you don't have anything to vote on anymore, because here's the first part, I hope you enjoy!

RECIPE: GINGERBREAD FILLED WITH ALMOND PASTE | BLOGMAS DAY 3

Hi there!

Today I'm officially going to dive into Christmas, starting with a recipe for gingerbread. There's nothing more Christmassy that a good chunk of gingerbread with almond paste. This recipe is ridiculously easy - I'M SERIOUS - and equally delicious.

NOVEMBER FAVOURITES | BLOGMAS DAY 2

Hi there!

Welcome to day 2 of blogmas..

As it's now December and I haven't done my November Favourites yet, I thought it would be good to do those today, before we go into the hardcore Christmas stuff.

I would also like to apologise for the quality of the photos in this post. School, cameras and winter lighting don't make very good ones...

Moving on.

FIRSTLY. ADELE. WOW. SHIT. SORRY, I SHOULDN'T SAY THAT.

SURPRISE! | BLOGMAS DAY 1

Hi there!

Surprise!

Well, this might not be a very big surprise, as I've already announced this on Twitter AND Instagram, but, it is nevertheless exciting to now be uploading the first (should've been second, yes then Rosaly, great start) post of BLOGMAS 2015.

Anyway.

Maybe not all of you peeps know what blogmas is, hence why the first post is completely dedicated to explaining the entire thing. #LAZY, I know.

OUTFIT: I CAN'T GO BACK

Hi there!

* VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION AT THE END OF THIS POST !!! *

Today I finally have another outfit for y'all!!! It's been sooooo long since I did one of these - due to lack of time and LAZINEZZ. All the free time I did actually have I spent on watching Perception - gosh, love that show - instead of going out, seeing friends and shooting outfit photos... But when I do, finally, it is ten times as great.

Umm. Rosaly, I don't know about that.

Anyhow.

About a week ago - *starts rapping Hot N'gga* 'OKAY ROSALY, CONCENRATE!' - I went to Vinnies with Pam. It was absolutely delightful and what follows is the result of a lovely afternoon with one of the loveliest people.

79 HOURS IN PARIS | #2

Hi there!

So nearly a week ago I published a snippet of the story / recap of  Paris I've been working on, and I got a really positive response - aka people at school questioning me to find out when the next part is gonna be out - so, as long as it stays that way, I thought I'd upload a chapter - or as I usually call it: an 'hour' - or so every week! Yay or nay? Comment below ;)

Okay, here we go again.

79 HOURS IN PARIS | #1

Hi there!

As you may or may not know, on the 13th of October I hopped on the train to Paris with school. I was planning on doing a short recap, but nope. No alternative universe allows me to make that amazing trip into a SHORT recap.

As I love not only writing about things I like, I also love writing stories. So I thought that I would put my experiences of Paris into a story and maybe make this into a series of some sort. If you like it. That's why the most important thing you have to do on this very moment is read my story and comment below whether you thought it was good or not.

:)

I am quite nervous for this to go up because I have actually never shared any of my stories with the world wide web before and to be completely honest, I am quite scared to be judged very hard.
But, for the future's sake, here we go.

OCTOBER FAVOURITES

Hi there!

It's a bit late, but, as the calender shows another next month - NOVEMBER, WHAT?! EASTER WAS LIKE... YESTERDAY?! -, here are my October Favourites:

My apologies in advance for crappy quality, but the colder months inevitably come with less light and my camera is not a big fan.

As it was Halloween on the last day of October, I threw a last-minute Halloween party for a few of my friends. As I'd never done this before - we don't really celebrate Halloween in Holland - I freaked out a little bit because all of a sudden I had to transform my house into a spooky hideaway. I had precisely 48 hours, including time to sleep, do homework and go to school, so I think a little bit of stress was allowed. Anyhow, the one thing I could think of in a short period of time was: carving pumpkins. So I dragged my exhausted self to the supermarket, scored a beautiful pumpkin, went home and carved my precious pumpkinny. And she turned out perfect.

RECIPE: AUTUMN PUMPKIN SPICE CAKE FAIL

Hi there!

It's getting cold and Halloween is just around the corner - it's literally tomorrow -, which can only mean one thing. It's Autumn. Some of you have been waiting for it since Christmas, others might not be as pleased with the frequent rain and cold wind that have made their entry in our everyday lives. I include myself in that last category. I do like some aspects that come with Autumn - like I made clear last year in this post -, but I just don't get why people would want to go outside and go for long walks when it's absolutely freezing your blimmin' nose off. Obviously, in films they make it all very romantic with scarves and cuddles and leaves that have turned the park into a beautiful orange and red duvet, but in reality, it hardly ever is like that. For me, anyway.

But, unless I move to California tomorrow, I'm going to have to deal with it - every single year - and I'm planning on doing that by doing one thing, and one thing only: baking. Because if there's anything that can cheer me up in these dark cold rainy days - I'm exaggerating, I know, but you should hear me when it gets to Winter - it's curling up on the couch and watching a movie or reading a good book with a cup of tea or hot chocolate and some home made deliciousness. Should my baking succeed, that is. Sometimes it's absolutely inedible, but yeah, life happens.

PACKING FOR PARIS

Hi there!

It's 6.19 AM at the moment and I'm going to make this a very short post because, well, time.

As I said it's 6.19 AM and to be honest, it's been a while since I've been up and awake - and on the internet - this early. I'm also about to catch a train to Paris. #nevvous

As I usually struggle with what to pack when I go away - do I take a dress? do I take heels? do I take jewellery? how cold is going to be? do I need to take one or two pairs of jeans? have I got enough socks? etc. etc. - I thought I would share with you what I grabbed out of my closet, laid out neatly on my bed and dumped in my bag this time.

I'M GOING TO PARIS?!

Hi there,

I don't know about you, but for me, school isn't as bad as I always say it is. For instance, in exactly one week, they're taking my year to Berlin, London and... PARIS. Fancy eh?

So me and twenty-nine other people are expected to be up and ready to go on the thirteenth of October, exactly 9 A.M. at platform fifteen (Amsterdam Central Station). Anyone wanna come and wave goodbye? ;)

This is how excited I am:

SEPTEMBER FAVOURITES

Hi there!

It's now officially November, which means Autumn, which means cosy scarfs, berry lips and a LOT of orange, brown, yellow and red. But before I start rambling about how much I love Autumn and November and blah blah blah, first, let's look back on September...

Little warning, I'm ill at the moment, and don't have a lot of inspiration, so this post may not be up to my usual standard... Anyways.

My favourites have often included beauty related stuff, like body butter and perfumes, but this month, there is none of that, and a lot of just random items.

DAY ZERO UPDATE #4

Hi there!

I know it's been a long time since I've done one of these so I thought I would take my cup of coffee and ridiculously delicious granola bar to my computer and get myself to update y'all on my Day Zero Project :)

SO. I haven't done as much as I had hoped to do in the summer holidays, but still, there is a few things that I've rounded up concerning Day Zero.

WHAT I GOT FOR MY BIRTHDAY 2015

Hi there!

It's been a while since my birthday, but I thought it would be fun to show you some of the stuff people gave me for managing to exist for fifteen years.

QUICK DISCLAIMER: I'm not in any way trying to show off my birthday presents or anything like that, I just love reading / watching other people do this, so I thought I'd do it myself as well!

I've been absolutely spoilt rotten this year, so let's just start somewhere...

By far one of the biggest presents I got was from my parents. A laptop. Not a super duper fancy one, but one that works really well. I think I've already fallen in love with it. At least I don't have to ask my mum's permission to use her laptop any longer now ;)

Next is this plastic case for my iPhone, that I also got from my parents, and I think it's really really cute - plus I'm a big fan of good books as well so yah... -

OUFIT: DAY AT THE BEACH

Hi there!

A while ago, my friend Mila and I went to the beach. It was 35 degrees Celsius and we decided that the city of Amsterdam was not the most ideal place to be at that temperature. So, an hour later we were on our way to the beach, complete with bikinis, food, magazines, towels and a parasol that turned out to have broken on the way. Great start to an even greater day ;)

THINKING FUTURE

Hi there!

It shocked me when I got notificated that my last post was from 6 May 2015, more than THREE months ago. To be honest, it didn't feel like that long at all, but you know what a weird thing time is.
A lot has happened in those three months, and I thought that in this post I could tell you a little about it and also what I want to do with this blog from now on. This is going to be a long, dready, deep post, so if you're not in for that, I suggest you stop reading here.

APRIL FAVOURITES + DAY ZERO APRIL

Hi there!

Guess who's back, back, back, back again?

I'M SO SORRY for not uploading anything in the last weeks! I was ill and the flu was kind enough to leave me with a massive headache that lasted another week... Anyway. As I missed the start of May, instead of spreading them over two posts, I'll just throw my favourites and Day Zero from last month right at you. LESGO!

RECIPE: EASY CHOCOLATE SNACKS

Hi there!

I'm sorry this post has come so late - Tuesday instead of Sunday, OOPS - . It's not the first, I know. All my post seem to come late, recently. My brain just seems to want to neglect these uploading dates I set, which is really annoying me. Anyway, I'm trying - and I have been uploading two posts a week which is like a really big progress because it used to be like one every two weeks or so! :) -

Imagine a snack, that tastes of chocolate, but not the kind of chocolate that makes you feel sorry for your dentist, no, the kind that makes you feel like you just ate something sweet and sugary, but fresh at the same time. Now add a bit of shredded coconut. And the sweet taste of dates. And some hazelnuts for the texture. THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THIS RECIPE IS ABOUT. And what if I would tell you they're healthy? On top of all of that? HEALTHY. H - E - A - L - T - H - Y. Really? Really!

So. Today I introduce you to...

Today I have an outfit for ya! It's been a LONG time since I've done that. I must say that these are my absolute favourites to shoot and write, but they take the longest as well :)

DAY ZERO: MARCH 2015

Hi there!

Today it's time to look back on MARCH. I feel like I did a lot of stuff in March, but that could also be because I spent a sh*t load of time doing my homework #geek...

Anyway.

MARCH FAVOURITES

Hi there!

I still cannot quite believe it, but it's already April. April. The past three months have literally gone so fast. It feels like only yesterday that I fell off the stairs trying to reach the bathroom - +1 if you remember that one ahum ahum... -

But today I would like to show you some of the things I have been loving this month.

RECIPE: CARROTCAKE

Hi there!

Today I wanted to share with you one of my favourite recipes of all time; the carrotcake. For the people that have never had a slice of carrotcake, it tastes heavenly and not at all of carrot. This cake is not very quick to make, but it's perfect for a birthday party because you can / have to put it in the fridge overnight.

Also, sorry for the overwhelming amount of photos, but carrotcake is just VERY photogenic ;)

DIY: MY MEMORY BOX

Hi there!

Now since one of my favourite things to do seems to be procrastinating, I only write this now. In March. For your information, it should've gone up somewhere at the end of DECEMBER 2014...

Anyways. Today I want to show you something I have been working on for the last three months - uhu, sure... - and that is my memory box. A memory box basically is a collection of things that have a meaning to you, put together in a box that you seal with cellartape - or I did anyway - and then, years later, you are allowed to open it and you'll see all those things that you haven't seen for years and you'll probably cry. That just was the longest sentence ever, wasn't it. Oh well.

REBELLIOUS COFFEE DATE

Hi there!

Yesterday morning, I woke up at 12 and in a complete rush I got dressed, ate breakfast, went grocery shopping for my dad, threw all I needed for that day + other random stuff in a bag - as you do - and ran downstairs. I was off to meet Laura at Vinnies and was a tiny bit late. Much like the previous one. I was on time though.

RECIPE: CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES

Hi there!

Today I wanted to share with you a recipe that I personally LOVE, and that is a recipe for Chocolate Chip Cookies (I'm gonna short that to CCC's for the rest of this blogpost because, ya know #lazyaf). Now there is something that I should say before I get started, and that is that I love this recipe so much because it gives the cookies the taste that they used to have when I was little. Of course, you may not know this taste, or might not like CCC's at all (don't know why you're still reading this then, haha) but this is the way I make them :)

Day Zero: February 2015

Hi there!

After the headstart that was January, February was a quiet month for Day Zero. Or so I thought. I've been so busy with school, that it was not until February the 20th that I started thinking: Hmm, I might need to do something, or I'll be empty handed at the end of the month. But I still managed to complete two goals and work on another three - some of them by accident haha -

Museum Experience #1

Hi there!

A couple of days ago, I went to the museum with my dad. Something I usually hate. Seriously, I'm not a person that gets grumpy quickly, but if you take me to a museum, wow. I'll ruin your whole day, basically - no offense, that's just me - But. Me and my dad went to an exhibition in the Allard Pierson Museum in Amsterdam, an exhibition I had picked out myself. And miraculously, I didn't hate it. Not at all. I loved it. That hadn't happened before, believe it or not.

Recipe: Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake

Hi there!

I'm a bit late with this recipe considering the whole salted caramel hype was happening in Fall 2014... But still, this cake is incredibly tasty, wether that hype is already over or not.

E.T. No Phone?

Hi there!

Day Zero: January 2015

Hi there!
It's February 19 today (?!) and I still haven't written a single thing about the first month of Day Zero. Oops. Big, big oops.
But, better late than never, so here we go!

Bloglovin' Trouble

Hi there!

As you may know - of course they know Rosaly, how else would they have gotten to your blog?! - I recently changed my URL from rosalylastname.blogspot.com to loverosaly.blogspot.com but Bloglovin' did not agree. I needed to make a new profile for my blog where the correct username would be shown. If you follow me on Bloglovin' - and also if you don't :) - please search for loverosaly.blogspot.com - or find it here - and follow that one instead of the old one.

If this was too confusing, let me know haha.

Leave a link to your Bloglovin' page below and I'll check it out!

Love,
Rosaly

Everyone is Charlie Hebdo

Hi there!

I think that we have all heard of Paris. Not Paris, the city of love, but Paris, the city of Charlie Hebdo. When I heard what had happened, I was shocked. I had never imagined a form - any form - of terrorism happening so close to home.

But it came even closer.

Bodyshop Haul

Hi there!

It's been a while since I have written a beauty blogpost, so today I am going to write about the Bodyshop.

Me and my friends are all Bodyshop-LOVERS - except for the boys haha - and every birthday I get a few new Bodyshop products from them. Also, if I've got some money 'left' - aka I've been in every shop in town and I cannot find a single thing I would want to spend my money on - I tend to just pop into one of their shops and go a little crazy - #guiltyaf - Thanks to this, my collection of Bodyshop products is growing steadily, and I thought I'd show you some of my faves :)

Rainy Day in Amsterdam...

Hi there!

The weather in Amsterdam in the winter is awful. Always. Except for maybe the very rare hours that it doesn't rain, it is absolutely deterrent. Therefore it is not very surprising that I miss summer a hell of a lot and that I'm craving hot chocolate and coffee. Especially coffee.

Anyway. Yesterday, I was meant to meet up with Laura in the Bagels&Beans, but she was ill and overslept, so we went for coffee today instead. In the B&B, naturally.
